Sankranthi Specials😄😄

Sankranthi also popularly known as Makar Sankranti is a festival that is celebrated through out India. It is celebrated in the month of january, it marks the first day of sun transit to Makara (capricorn). Sankranti is also known as harvest festival of farmers during this time farmers get their new crop and offers prayers to it. Apart from this Sankranti is also about mouth watering and delicious food. So here is the recipe of authentic andhra sweet dish known as Bobbatlu.

Ingredients required: 2 cups of chana dal , 4 cups of sugar, A bit of cardamom, maida, Ghee/ oil, and salt.

Process: Wash the Chana dal, add to pressure cooker with water and cook it for 5-6 whistles. When the pressure goes off remove the lid and mash the dal into a fine paste. Now add 4 cups of sugar and 1 glass of water and make sugar syrup. After the syrup is ready add the mashed paste into the syrup and mix well also add cardamom and make fine round balls. Now take maida add water a bit of salt , 2-3 spoons of oil and knead the dough with water. After this take the dough and flatten it like a roti. Now place the prepared purnam ball in the middle and cover it with edges so that stuffing is completely covered with dough. Aain flatten the stuffed ball with roller pin or by hand. Now heat the pan add 1 tbsp of ghee and add the bobbatu on the pan. Turn the bobbatu to the other side with flat ladle. Fry the bobbatu on two sides until it becomes golden brown, serve it hot with ghee.
